Project Moped aims to extend Content Distribution Networks, such as Akamai or Level 3, (CDN) by leveraging peer-to-peer (P2P) technology and using the location of the user as a key factor in determining which connections are established.  With a P2P network in place between users and the CDN edge nodes it is then possible for a users connection to the CDN to adjust to its location and share data with other users in close proximity.  In doing this we can increase the quality of the user experience while minimizing changes in the CDN infrastructure.
